31st Kabankalan Sinulog Festival

Last Sunday I was at Kabankalan City to witness the one of the most exciting festival in Negros Occidental, the «31st Kabankalan Sinulog Festival».Actually I arrived in the City of Progress last saturday night, and guess what, the hottest Reggae Band in the Philippines «Brownman’s Revival» is at the Kabankalan Football Field entertaining the people of Kabankalan and its guests. Besides this city is also known as Reggae City, try visit Kabankalan and hang out to either Perico or South Bar then you can notice that the music played are mostly Reggae. Anyway here are the pics that I gathered during the Sinulog Parade, hopefully you’ll enjoy it.

Futuristic City

Negros Fifty years later (2056)

These people have a creative ideas on what will be the future of our city looks like, fifty years from now (2056). They were very visionary, for example the reclamation area will be called as the Masskara City. At the edge of the city at BREDCO there will be a Mask shaped human made island, very cool idea.

Municipality of Candoni

The Municipality of Candoni was once known as «Tablas Valley» due to the area was very rich in Tablas trees. Founded by Santiago «Tagoy» Diego in 1935 who leads a group of men to cutoff trees of Tablas to create a road. Every February Candoninians celebrates «Pabalahas sa Tablas» to remember how their town began.

Himamaylan City


Himamaylan is located at the southern part of Negros Occidental, approximately one hour and a half travel time from Bacolod City. The city is famous of its marine resources like talaba and different kind of fishes, the city is also one of the major source of wooden pole used for electric posts. Every month of April, Himamaylan celebrates «Himaya-an Festival».

La Carlota City



Long ago the place was inhabited by natives known as the «Mangcas». The word Mangcas derived from the name of a brave and noble Negrito warrior who lived in the creek of Canman-ug. Because of his kindness people loved him, and all of his offsprings also named after him, later on when there is too many Mancas around, a settlement emerged and local natives named it Mangcas.

The Provincial Capitol Lagoon

Today we will roam around to one of Negros famous park, the Capitol Lagoon. The place is located along the street of Lacson, Bacolod City and in front of Provincial Capitol. There are four famous monuments that can be seen in the location.
